A new algorithm for reducing the workload of experts in performing systematic reviews

Objective to determine whether a factorized version of the complement naïve Bayes (FCNB) classifier can reduce the time spent by experts reviewing journal articles for inclusion in systematic reviews of drug class efficacy for disease treatment.‎

Using machine-to-machine ‎/ “Internet of Things” communication to simplify medical device information exchange

Abstract—A new push-based mechanism of information exchange between medical devices using the MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol for the Internet of Things (IoT) is presented.‎ The proposed implementation allows any medical device to become interoperable without knowledge of the existence of other devices, and provides a simple, scalable solution to the current lack of medical device connectivity.‎ Our approach facilitates the use of shared information in ways that were not envisioned by the original device manufacturer, thus enabling the continued independent improvement of patient safety and information integration throughout the life cycle of devices.‎ We have implemented a VitalBridge interface running on Wifi- enabled Beaglebone Black embedded devices.‎ This allows existing legacy devices to connect to this new communication framework, and use it to implement an integrated mobile monitoring

Today, it's hard to imagine a GPS that doesn't list landmarks, street names, or even exit numbers.‎ Every bit of visual information we can get from map symbols and text makes navigating easier and faster.‎ The same is true for a PCB, yet we often overlook a great opportunity to provide a wealth of information about our PCB's design on the silkscreen.‎ The information we can, and should, supply on PCB silkscreens should go beyond component outlines, reference designators, and pin 1 indicators.‎

In this paper I'll describe and display some of the enhancements you can make to your PCB designs' silkscreens that can add value at both the bare board and assembly levels and from the test bench to the installation.‎
